The term `Napti’ has been used in scriptures with reference to God as the All-pervasive One.
That is, He is present equally in matter and soul. Scriptural wisdom, metaphysical insight and studies of the universal soul and the material sciences are all geared towards understanding more about the presence of an all-pervasive force, call it divine consciousness or the theory of everything.

The divine consciousness is present in every atom of the universe. Divine existence is subtlest and largest, subtle to the extent that it cannot be separated, broken or pierced and largest in that it is infinite beyond human imagination. Since it is in continuum we can term the universe as a God particle, too.


Human perception is associated with the eyes or the mind for seeing or thinking. These two properties are purely temporal and cannot lead the seeker to the ultimate goal. Bliss, realisation or divine experience is something that is connected with the soul. When God is without any shape or form His imaginary perception guides the aspirant in the primary stages. In the advanced stage the powers of human organs do not work and it is the soul that takes the lead.


Atoms, quarks and gluons can be broken up in a worldly laboratory of colliding machines, but the invisible and relative consciousness prevailing therein as a string linked to the sentient and the insentient in the whole of cosmos remains unbroken. For this, to acquire vidya or knowledge of the Supreme, one would have to go to the laboratory of the soul. Only the soul can feel divinity and this transcendental feeling have been termed as ‘Swa’ – anand or supreme bliss found in salvation. Urmi or divine wave is felt in the last stages of meditation, also called Asampragyat Samadhi or Atharvana , when total peace is attained.
God is that which cannot be pierced. He can be reached or realised through pure devotion only. The noumenon is ' purutra chid hi' which means the divine consciousness of the ultimate is prevalent in the living and non-living in all conditions, at all times, transcending space, even. He is so near that He is indetachable and so far that He is immeasurable and so is known to be infinite.
Scriptures agree on His one name, Aum or Onkar . Aum becomes the vehicle of soul when the seeker is pure in thought, speech and action. The Sages say the truth in different ways but none can explain His bliss in words. Just as milk yields butter after it is churned, so, too, a churning within can reveal the Divine Presence.
"Na tasya pratima asti" – no picture can reveal His appearance or form. You can look for Him in any direction, up or down, right of left or in between. He is merged in every thing -- the human body, soul and cosmos. He does not tread the second step and is present only in one step in the entire universe. 'Na Dvitiyam Asti’ -- He is unparalleled.
Another important definition of God is as ‘Alarshi’ which means that He is soul of the soul or Father of the soul. Soul is subtle but He is subtler than the soul even. Therefore, only the soul can realise Him. In mystic parlance the science of the mundane world is called as avidya and the knowledge of divine presence of consciousness in every atom of the existence is termed as vidya .
For invisible actions as creator, controller and destroyer, the Supreme Power, He is defined as: Toovikurma or the One who does uncountable works, anant karma or performing infinite actions and Sahatrakritravah or attending to myriads of jobs at the same time and Ritviyah or doing good to all at all times.
